When Robert Sutton founded the company in 1965, it was the first general engineering company in the Truckee–North Lake Tahoe area dedicated entirely to asphalt. In 1979 it became the first local company to offer the pavement maintenance techniques (sealcoating, crack sealing) that are the industry standard today.
Over six decades we’ve maintained thousands of driveways and now maintain millions of square feet of asphalt every year. Eric Sutton runs the company today — same name on the truck, same phone number his father answered.

Our maintenance crew is four people whose combined time with the company is more than 106 years. In an industry where crews turn over every season, ours has measured its tenure in decades, which is why the work looks the same from one year to the next, and why longtime customers know the people who show up.
