Sealcoating and striping in Sierraville, north, out in Sierra Valley.

Asphalt sealcoating, crack sealing, and striping for Sierraville driveways and lots, from the crew that has maintained Sierra pavement since 1965. (530) 587-4161

Sierraville sits north of Truckee in Sierra Valley, up Highway 89 over Sierra Summit, a small ranching community on the floor of one of the largest alpine valleys in the country.

Down on the valley floor at around 4,950 feet the pavement lives an easier life than the lake communities do. Less snow load, an earlier thaw, and a working season that opens sooner than it does up at the summit.

Getting to Sierraville from the yard

Sierraville is a genuine drive from the yard, north on Highway 89 over Sierra Summit and down into the valley. We will be straight with you about whether a small job out there fits the season.

What Sierraville pavement is up against

This is among the lower ground we work, and elevation buys a little grace. Snow leaves sooner, the base dries sooner, and jobs here are often the first ones on the calendar in early summer. The tradeoff is that a longer stretch of days near the freezing line means more freeze and thaw cycles, and every one of them works on whatever is already open.

Ranch and residential drives, shared access roads, and small commercial pavement. Work this far out is best grouped with other jobs on the same run, which is worth raising when you call.

Planning the work

What we will not do is sell a coating over pavement that has failed underneath. If an area has broken down into the base it needs repair or replacement, which is paving work, and paving is not what we do. The assessment that comes back to you separates what is worth protecting from what is past it.

Questions we get from Sierraville

Do you do the striping too, or just the sealcoating?

Both, and they belong together. Sealcoat covers every line in a lot, so restriping is part of the job rather than an add-on. It is also the cheapest moment to fix a layout that was not working.

Do you handle association roads in Sierraville?

Yes, and association work is a big part of what we do up here. Road networks get assessed segment by segment, sealed on a rotation, and crack sealed annually. Boards usually start those conversations in winter or early spring.

How far ahead should I book work in Sierraville?

Earlier than feels necessary. The mountain season runs roughly June through September, and every property in the area needs the same handful of weeks. Spring calls get the dates people want. August calls often wait for next year.
