1. What these terms cover

These terms govern your use of this website, operated by Robert E. Sutton Co., Inc.. Using the site means you accept them. They are not the contract for your pavement work. Actual work is governed by the written estimate or proposal we give you, and where that document and this page disagree about the work, the estimate controls.

2. Who we are, and what we do not do

2.1 We are a pavement maintenance contractor: asphalt sealcoating, hot rubberized crack sealing, and striping. California license #510637, Nevada license #29573 class A-8.

2.2 We do not pave. We do not install new asphalt, do overlays, or perform structural repair. If your pavement has failed into the base, the honest answer is that it needs a paving contractor, and we will tell you so rather than sell you a coating over a structural problem. 3. Estimates, quotes, and scope

3.1 Estimates follow a look. Pavement condition drives scope, so a meaningful number follows seeing the property. Figures discussed before that are conversation, not a quote.

3.2 Written estimates control. The written estimate states the scope. Work outside that scope is a change and gets discussed before it happens.

3.3 Conditions can change the scope. Pavement sometimes reveals itself once the surface is cleaned. If we find something that changes what should be done, we stop and talk to you rather than proceeding and explaining later.

3.4 Nothing on this website is a quote. The service and location pages describe what we do and where. They do not price your job. Neither does the chat assistant (section 5).

4. Season, scheduling, and weather

4.1 The season is real. Sealcoating and crack sealing need warm, dry pavement. At the elevations we work, that means roughly June through September. We schedule inside that window because material applied outside it fails.

4.2 Weather moves jobs. Rain, cold nights, or a storm in the forecast will move your date. We would rather reschedule than apply material in conditions that guarantee a callback. We will contact you when that happens.

4.3 Access and cure time. Vehicles must be off the pavement during the work and through the cure, which is commonly at least 24 hours and longer in shade or cool weather. Driving or turning wheels on a young surface will mark it, and marks caused that way are not a defect in the work.

4.4 Sequence. Where a job includes more than one service, the order is cracks, then surface, then striping. We will not seal over open cracks and call it complete.

5. The chat assistant is not a contract

5.1 The AI assistant on this site provides general information. It can be wrong about scope, timing, materials, or whether we cover a particular property.

5.2 Nothing the assistant says is a quote, a booking, a schedule commitment, or a warranty, and nothing it says binds us. Only a written estimate from a person does that. How chat data is handled is described in Privacy Policy section 4.

6. Communications about your job

By requesting a quote or placing an order you agree we may call or email you about that request or job: to ask questions, confirm scheduling, or tell you the work is done. That is operational communication about something you asked us for, not marketing. We do not run marketing campaigns off this website.

Text messages. If you check the SMS consent box on a form, you agree we may text you at the number you provide about your quote and job. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase, and we do not share your mobile number or texting consent with third parties for their marketing.

7. Acceptable use of this website

Do not scrape or harvest the site, submit spam through the forms, probe or overload the site’s security, upload anything malicious, impersonate someone else in a form or in chat, or use the forms or the assistant to harass our staff. There are people on the other end. We may block abusive traffic and decline abusive requests.

8. Our content and photographs

8.1 The text, design, and photographs on this site belong to us or to our licensors. You may not republish site content commercially without permission.

8.2 Job photographs. We photograph completed work and may show it in our project gallery or elsewhere on this site. If you would prefer your property not appear, tell us and we will leave it out or remove it.

9. Links to other sites

Where we link to a licence lookup, a manufacturer, or another outside resource, we do not control that site and are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.

10. Disclaimer about the information here

The guides, FAQ, and problem pages on this site describe general pavement behaviour in a mountain climate. They are written honestly, but every property is different, and general information is not a diagnosis of yours. Do not make a maintenance decision about your pavement solely from a web page. Call (530) 587-4161 and have somebody look at it.

11. Limitation of liability for the website

This website is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of your use of this website is limited. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under California or Nevada law, and nothing here affects your rights under the written agreement for work we actually perform.

12. Which law applies

These website terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Work performed on the Nevada side of the lake is performed under our Nevada licence and remains subject to Nevada law where Nevada law applies.

12.1 Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the work, call (530) 587-4161 before anything else. Sixty years in one small town happens by fixing problems, not by litigating them.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page.
