SUNNYSIDE · SINCE 1965
ADA stalls, aisles, and signage in Sunnyside.
Sunnyside is reached down Highway 89 from Tahoe City, which from our yard means either south on 89 through the river canyon or over Highway 267 and around the north shore. Robert E. Sutton Co. works out of Truckee, licensed in California and Nevada, and ADA striping is one of the three things we do. Call (530) 587-4161.
What the work involves
Accessible stalls, striped access aisles, and the signage that goes with them, laid out to current standards. California adds requirements on top of the federal rules, and faded accessible markings stop being compliant markings.
Why it matters at this elevation
Layout accuracy is most of the job. Correct stall dimensions, proper aisle widths, and markings placed where they are supposed to be matter more than the brand of paint. Getting that right on fresh sealcoat, while the old lines are gone, is the easiest it will ever be.
At this height the calendar is the constraint. The base needs to be genuinely dry before sealer will bond, and up here that usually is not until well into June. Work that has to cure gets scheduled early in the window rather than gambled on the end of it.
How the job runs
Most areas are back in service the same day, since traffic paint sets fast in summer conditions. Fresh work gets coned off until it will not track. When striping follows a sealcoat it is the sealer cure that sets the schedule, not the paint.
Sunnyside pavement specifically
Lodging and restaurant lots along the highway, plus residential drives on the streets above. Commercial pavement here works hardest in summer, which is exactly when it has to be sealed, so phasing keeps businesses open.
Sunnyside sits on the West Shore a couple of miles south of Tahoe City along Highway 89, a strip of lakefront lodging, restaurants, and residential streets climbing away from the water.
Markings here have to survive plow blades and months under snow, so the restripe cycle runs shorter than an owner would expect from a lot down the hill.
Sunnyside sits at roughly 6,240 feet, and the pavement around it behaves accordingly. More on the area on our Sunnyside service area page. We work the same corridor through Tahoe City, Homewood, Tahoe Park, Dollar Point, and the pavement guides go deeper on the physics if you want it.
Questions
Are you licensed for work in Sunnyside?
Yes. We hold California license 510637 and Nevada license 29573, classification A-8, which covers both sides of the state line around the north end of the lake.
How do you price ADA striping?
By looking at it. Condition and square footage drive the scope, so we walk the pavement rather than quoting blind. We reply to requests within one business day and go from there.
What if the weather turns on my scheduled day?
We reschedule. Sealer needs dry pavement and dry hours behind it, and mountain thunderstorms are a fact of July and August. A delayed job beats a rushed one every time, and we will call you rather than surprise you.
