What the work involves

Layout, stalls, arrows, and legends, painted to hold up against plow blades and traction sand. Striping over fresh sealcoat is also the cheapest moment there will ever be to fix a layout that was not working.

Why it matters at this elevation

Layout accuracy is most of the job. Correct stall dimensions, proper aisle widths, and markings placed where they are supposed to be matter more than the brand of paint. Getting that right on fresh sealcoat, while the old lines are gone, is the easiest it will ever be.

Around 6,200 feet the pavement carries snow cover for a long stretch and then spends spring cycling through melt and refreeze. That cycle, more than the cold itself, is what widens cracks and softens the base. Getting the surface tight before the snow arrives is worth more than anything done after it leaves.

How the job runs

Layout comes before paint. We reference the existing configuration before it disappears, confirm stall dimensions and aisle widths, and place accessible spaces where they belong rather than where they happened to be. Then lines go down on clean dry pavement.

Lake Forest pavement specifically

A mix of residential drives, small commercial lots, and marina access pavement. Mixed-use stretches like this often combine a striping job and a driveway on the same visit.

Being close to Tahoe City means this pavement sees more traffic than a purely residential pocket would, and the commercial frontage here works through the whole summer season. Lake Forest sits just east of Tahoe City on the way toward Dollar Point, a residential and light commercial stretch along the lake road with marina and campground pavement mixed in.

Markings here have to survive plow blades and months under snow, so the restripe cycle runs shorter than an owner would expect from a lot down the hill.
