What the work involves

Layout, stalls, arrows, and legends, painted to hold up against plow blades and traction sand. Striping over fresh sealcoat is also the cheapest moment there will ever be to fix a layout that was not working.

Why it matters at this elevation

Paint has a harder life here than it does anywhere lower. Plow blades scrape it, traction sand grinds it under tires all winter, and altitude UV bleaches what survives. That is why mountain properties restripe on a shorter cycle than the same property would down the hill.

This elevation sits in the middle of our range. Snow clears later than it does in town and earlier than it does on the summit, and the practical result is a working window measured in weeks rather than months. Booking ahead matters more here than most owners expect the first year.

How the job runs

The details are the job. Correct dimensions, legible legends, markings placed to current standards, and materials chosen for pavement that gets plowed all winter. We would rather talk the layout through in advance than repaint somebody else's mistake in the same spot.

Sunnyside pavement specifically

Lodging and restaurant lots along the highway, plus residential drives on the streets above. Commercial pavement here works hardest in summer, which is exactly when it has to be sealed, so phasing keeps businesses open.

Sunnyside sits on the West Shore a couple of miles south of Tahoe City along Highway 89, a strip of lakefront lodging, restaurants, and residential streets climbing away from the water. West Shore pavement lives in the shade more than the North Shore does.

Markings here have to survive plow blades and months under snow, so the restripe cycle runs shorter than an owner would expect from a lot down the hill.
