Sealcoating and striping in Serene Lakes, summit cabins around the lakes.
Asphalt sealcoating, crack sealing, and striping for Serene Lakes driveways and lots, from the crew that has maintained Sierra pavement since 1965. (530) 587-4161
Serene Lakes sits up on Donner Summit near Soda Springs, a cabin community built around the lakes at close to 6,900 feet. It is one of the highest places we work and one of the snowiest.
Everything about pavement up here is governed by snow. Properties spend a large share of the year buried, access roads get plowed hard, and the melt runs long into what the calendar insists is summer.
Getting to Serene Lakes from the yard
Serene Lakes is west of Truckee on Interstate 80, up over the summit and in past Soda Springs. A straightforward run in July and a completely different proposition in October.
What Serene Lakes pavement is up against
Elevation this high changes the math on everything. The base holds moisture from snowmelt long after the surface looks dry, which pushes the start of the season later than most owners expect. Anyone planning summit work should be talking to us in spring, not looking for a slot in August.
Cabin drives and shared access roads make up nearly all of it. At this elevation the honest priority is crack work before the snow rather than a coating that has to cure in a window that barely opens.
Planning the work
Access shapes the schedule as much as the weather does. Vehicles have to be off the surface during the work and through the cure, so driveways get timed around when people are actually home and shared pavement gets phased so nobody is stranded. Tell us the constraints and we will build around them.
Questions we get from Serene Lakes
Do you do the striping too, or just the sealcoating?
Both, and they belong together. Sealcoat covers every line in a lot, so restriping is part of the job rather than an add-on. It is also the cheapest moment to fix a layout that was not working.
How far ahead should I book work in Serene Lakes?
Earlier than feels necessary. The mountain season runs roughly June through September, and every property in the area needs the same handful of weeks. Spring calls get the dates people want. August calls often wait for next year.
Is my Serene Lakes driveway too small to bother with?
No such thing. Driveways are a large share of what we do, and small jobs get grouped efficiently on the schedule. The only thing that makes a small job hard is calling in late in the season.
