TAHOE DONNER · SINCE 1965

Courts, playgrounds, and sport surfaces in Tahoe Donner.

Tahoe Donner sits on the ridge above town, up Northwoods Boulevard from downtown Truckee. Robert E. Sutton Co. works out of Truckee, licensed in California and Nevada, and court and playground striping is one of the three things we do. Call (530) 587-4161.

What the work involves

Court lines, playground layouts, and game surfaces painted to the right dimensions. Mountain courts take the same UV and freeze punishment as everything else, so the surface underneath usually needs attention before the lines go down.

Why it matters at this elevation

Paint has a harder life here than it does anywhere lower. Plow blades scrape it, traction sand grinds it under tires all winter, and altitude UV bleaches what survives. That is why mountain properties restripe on a shorter cycle than the same property would down the hill.

Summit elevation compresses everything. A shorter work window, a deeper snow load, a longer melt, and the hardest freeze and thaw pattern anywhere on our list. Crack work before the snow is worth more here than any other single thing done to the pavement.

How the job runs

Most areas are back in service the same day, since traffic paint sets fast in summer conditions. Fresh work gets coned off until it will not track. When striping follows a sealcoat it is the sealer cure that sets the schedule, not the paint.

Tahoe Donner pavement specifically

This is driveway country at scale, thousands of them, plus association amenity lots and the private road network that ties it together. Driveways here tend to be long, sloped, and plowed hard, so crack work usually leads and sealcoat follows on a rotation.

Sealcoat schedules here run on the earlier side of the season window.

Striping is the last step in the sequence. If the surface is due for sealing, the lines go on after that rather than before, so they are not buried a season later.

Tahoe Donner sits at roughly 6,750 feet, and the pavement around it behaves accordingly. More on the area on our Tahoe Donner service area page. We work the same corridor through Agate Bay, Alpine Meadows, Alpine Peaks, and the pavement guides go deeper on the physics if you want it.

Questions

How do you price court and playground striping?

By looking at it. Condition and square footage drive the scope, so we walk the pavement rather than quoting blind. We reply to requests within one business day and go from there.

Do I need anything done before the court and playground striping?

Usually cracks. Sealing a surface without closing the cracks first leaves the water a way in under a nice new finish. We handle both, and we sequence them in the right order.

What if the weather turns on my scheduled day?

We reschedule. Sealer needs dry pavement and dry hours behind it, and mountain thunderstorms are a fact of July and August. A delayed job beats a rushed one every time, and we will call you rather than surprise you.
