What the work involves

Court lines, playground layouts, and game surfaces painted to the right dimensions. Mountain courts take the same UV and freeze punishment as everything else, so the surface underneath usually needs attention before the lines go down.

Why it matters at this elevation

Snow country is hard on markings in a way that surprises owners who moved up from the valley. Between blade contact, sand abrasion, and the months lines spend buried, mountain striping does not last as long. Planning for that cycle is cheaper than being surprised by it.

Pavement in this range spends a long stretch under snow and then a long stretch cycling between melt and overnight refreeze. The refreeze does the damage. Water that ran into a crack at two in the afternoon is ice by nine at night, and ice takes up more room than the water did.

How the job runs

Most areas are back in service the same day, since traffic paint sets fast in summer conditions. Fresh work gets coned off until it will not track. When striping follows a sealcoat it is the sealer cure that sets the schedule, not the paint.

Lahontan pavement specifically

Long private drives, association roadways, and amenity pavement. Drives of that length develop working cracks along their run, and sealing those before winter is what keeps the surface from opening up under the plows.

Lahontan sits in Martis Valley between Truckee and Northstar, a private community with a golf course, an internal road system, and long individual driveways cut into the terrain.

Lahontan is south of Truckee in Martis Valley, an easy run down the Highway 267 corridor from the yard before the climb toward Brockway Summit.

Striping is the last step in the sequence. If the surface is due for sealing, the lines go on after that rather than before, so they are not buried a season later.
